Job summary

Quippy, a YC-backed daily practice app, is hiring its first designer to shape how it looks and feels on iPhone, working closely with engineering to ship polished visuals quickly.

You will design end-to-end features, define the conversation screen experience, and help the team grow a cohesive design system with motion and a mascot. This is a full-time role based in San Francisco with remote options.

Qualifications

• Shipped app screens that people use daily.
• Attention to small details: spacing, timing, button copy.
• Able to prototype to answer questions rather than debate.
• Able to explain why a design works and adjust when users show otherwise.

Quippy (YC F26) is a daily practice room for the conversations people dread. You pick a real situation, like disagreeing with your manager or starting a conversation at a party, rehearse it with a realistic scene partner by voice or text, and get honest, line-by-line feedback on what landed. The app is live on the App Store.

You will be our first designer. You will own how Quippy looks and feels on the iPhone, work side by side with engineering, and see your designs in people's hands within days.
