Job summary

Decagon is the leading conversational AI platform delivering concierge customer experiences. The Security Engineering team designs and builds security foundations for the AI platform, ensuring data protection and scalable defense against AI-enabled threats.

This founding Platform Engineer role focuses on security infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling to empower engineers while maintaining top-tier security and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
• Strong coding ability in at least one systems language (Python, Go, TypeScript)
• Experience applying AI-assisted tooling to improve developer productivity
• Experience with secure container deployment, service mesh, and Kubernetes security practices
• Observability and incident-response tooling experience
• Clear written communication and turning ambiguous requirements into reliable designs

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, multi-tenant infrastructure that isolates customer data while enabling AI model serving
• Build golden paths for security including templates, libraries, and automation so new services are secure by default
• Own infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices with reusable modules
• Expand and operate platforms for alerting, secrets management, IAM, and automated remediation
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate enterprise requirements into automated controls
• Participate in security on-call and drive improvements in runbooks and incident learnings
