Job summary

Regit is hiring its first non-founder engineer to build and operate a secure, scalable financial infrastructure platform. You will shape architecture, set engineering standards, and partner with client teams while delivering on a governed data spine.

You will own production-grade Rust services, while coordinating with Dagster, Kubernetes, and cloud components to support regulatory calculations and evidence packaging. This role blends hands-on work with architectural influence.

Qualifications

  • Strong production experience with Rust or comparable systems-level backend engineering.
  • Experience building and operating a data platform, control plane, storage system or distributed system.
  • Deep practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, workflow execution, idempotency and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate production platform services in Rust.
  • Develop multi-branch regulatory workflows converging on one governed data spine.
  • Build the governed data path across immutable source data, typed datasets and bitemporal facts.
  • Design reliable Dagster orchestration, using Python primarily as orchestration glue around Rust services.
  • Lead the evolution to production Kubernetes deployments.
  • Establish engineering standards and hiring foundations for the team that follows.

Job description

Regit is building EU and US regulatory infrastructure for financial institutions.

Financial institutions provide their data once. Regit turns it into one governed record supporting regulatory calculations, documents, evidence and distribution. Our deterministic regulatory engines and core stack already exist. We are now building the institutional platform around them.

You will be Regit’s first non-founder engineer, working directly with the founder to turn existing regulatory engines into secure, deployable financial infrastructure.

You will own the path from immutable client inputs through governed data, regulatory calculations, bitemporal facts, evidence packages and delivered outputs.

This is not a role where finished requirements arrive as tickets. You will influence the architecture, establish engineering standards, make early production decisions and help shape the engineering team that follows you.

  • Build and operate production platform services in Rust.
  • Develop multi-branch regulatory workflows converging on one governed data spine.
  • Build the governed data path across immutable source data, typed datasets, calculation artifacts and bitemporal PostgreSQL facts.
  • Design reliable Dagster orchestration, using Python primarily as orchestration glue around Rust services and regulatory engines.
  • Make lineage, reproducibility, evidence and failure behavior inspectable rather than implicit.
  • Build the operational foundations for identity, authorization, tenant isolation, observability, recovery and auditability.
  • Lead the evolution from today’s containerized environment toward production Kubernetes deployments.
  • Help design cloud, customer-controlled and eventually disconnected deployment paths.
  • Work directly with client engineering, data, operations, security and regulatory teams when needed.
  • Establish the technical standards and hiring foundations for the engineering team that follows.
  • Strong production experience with Rust or comparable systems-level backend engineering, together with evidence that you can become productive in Rust quickly.
  • Experience building and operating a data platform, control plane, storage system, distributed system or similarly failure-sensitive infrastructure.
  • Deep practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, workflow execution, idempotency and recovery.
  • Experience with containers, cloud infrastructure, identity, authorization and observability.
  • Strong judgment about when to build, simplify or defer.
  • Comfort operating as the first engineering hire in a high-accountability environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both engineers and institutional clients.

Experience with Dagster, Apache Iceberg, Arrow, Parquet, DataFusion, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, bitemporal data, event sourcing, financial services, regulatory reporting or other high-assurance software.

You do not need to be a regulatory expert. You do need to care about building systems whose results can be explained, reproduced and trusted.

  • The first institutional workflow operates end to end with reproducible evidence and explicit failure behavior.
  • Deployment, observability, recovery and tenant boundaries are tested in practice.
  • New regulatory packs can be added without creating client-specific platform forks.
  • The next engineers inherit a coherent architecture and engineering culture.

This role is based in Austin, Texas, with an expected hybrid rhythm of approximately three days per week together. Relocation support may be considered after financing. Exceptional US-based remote candidates may also be considered if they can travel regularly to Austin and client locations.

Base salary: $160,000 - $190,000 USD per year.

The package will include meaningful early-stage stock options, subject to completion of the financing, adoption of the company’s equity plan, applicable valuation and formal board approval. We will explain the planned grant, fully diluted capitalization, vesting and dilution context during the interview process.

Regit is beginning candidate conversations while completing its US seed financing and Delaware formation. This is a genuine planned post-financing position. Formal employment can begin once the corporation, financing, payroll and approved headcount are in place.
