Job description

Rivio is a San Francisco–based AI technology company built for modern procurement teams that need to make better decisions, faster, and with confidence. Powered by Sheldon, Rivio embeds world-class procurement data and expertise directly into sourcing and negotiation workflows, helping teams capture repeatable savings, expand coverage without adding headcount, and build institutional knowledge that compounds over time.

Rivio works with customers such as Brex, Checkr, and Harvey, and is backed by Gradient Ventures, MIT, and S32, with strategic advisors from Meta, Apple, and other leading technology companies.

Role Description

Rivio is looking for a founding marketing leader to own and execute our marketing motion as we scale into our next phase of growth.

This role is equal parts strategy and execution. You'll translate a complex, technical product into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with procurement leaders, shape how the market understands Rivio, and build the systems that drive awareness, credibility, and pipeline. You will work directly with the founders and cross-functionally with Product and Sales, and you'll have meaningful autonomy from day one.

This is not a "support" role. You are the marketing owner — responsible for defining priorities, shipping work, and building momentum across channels.

What You'll Own

• Rivio's end-to-end marketing motion, including positioning and messaging for Rivio and its AI agent (Sheldon)

• Content and narrative strategy across website, decks, sales enablement, and campaigns

• Launches, announcements, and category education initiatives

• Early demand generation experiments (events, partnerships, content, light paid)

• Leverage AI to power a best‑in‑class demand generation engine that consistently converts signal into pipeline

• Marketing infrastructure, operating cadence, and measurement as the function matures

Role Requirements

We're looking for someone who thrives in early‑stage environments and is excited to build, not just maintain.

You likely have

• 3+ years of experience in product marketing, marketing strategy, or brand‑led growth roles (startup experience strongly preferred)

• Experience marketing technical or B2B products (AI, SaaS, dev tools, enterprise software, or procurement a plus)

• Hands‑on experience orchestrating demand generation across multiple channels and tying efforts back to clear goals

• A strong point of view on positioning, messaging, and category storytelling

• Comfort operating with ambiguity and limited resources — and the judgment to prioritize what matters

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can simplify complex ideas without dumbing them down

• Hands‑on execution ability across content, decks, campaigns, and launches

• Familiarity with modern AI tools and curiosity about using them to move faster

• Experience working directly with founders

• Exposure to procurement, finance, or enterprise buying personas

• Prior experience as an early or first marketing hire

• Comfort working fractionally or transitioning from fractional to FTE over time

What We Offer

• Competitive salary and equity, based on experience

• Dynamic, fun, and collaborative work environment where you can be yourself

• Major opportunities for professional growth — you will be our first marketing hire

• Significant impact on an early‑stage startup

• Comprehensive health insurance: medical, dental, and vision coverage

Plus other benefits

• Modern office spaces: well‑designed, comfortable, and collaborative workspaces. Pet‑friendly policy.

• Meals and snacks: onsite meals, snacks, and beverages

• Team building activities: regular social events, retreats, and outings

• Learning and development: budget for courses, certifications, and conferences based on employee performance

What We Believe
  • Own the Outcome: You treat the company's success as your own, because it is. We don't manage by oversight; we trust people to make the right call and work on the highest impact priorities for our customers.
  • Build without Borders: Good ideas come from anywhere, and anyone can build them. Title doesn't decide who gets to contribute; drive does. We don't wait for perfect or over‑engineer - progress beats polish.
  • No Playbook, No Problem: Most of what we're building has never been built before, and there's no playbook because we're writing it. This requires extreme prioritization to cut through the noise.
  • High Bar, Good Vibes: We're curious, a little obsessed, and genuinely excited about what we're building. The intensity is real - and so is the enjoyment.

Equal Opportunity Employer: Rivio AI is an equal‑opportunity employer and values diversity. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
