Job summary

UniversalAGI, Inc. is seeking a founding Geophysics + Seismic Researcher to develop AI models that learn subsurface physics from data. You will work directly with the CEO to address seismic interpretation, inversion, and geologic modeling challenges with production-ready results.

You will run large-scale experiments, connect velocity and density models to petrophysical properties, and contribute to the product strategy with real-world validation across energy domains.

Qualifications

• PhD in Geophysics with extensive seismic processing/interpretation experience.
• Strong AI background with physics-based models (FNO, Transolver).
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks; capable of leading end-to-end workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI architectures for subsurface physics and seismic modeling.
• Own end-to-end research workflows from synthetic data to deployment.
• Collaborate with domain experts to validate models against seismic/geo data.
• Publish breakthroughs and drive research roadmap with the team.
• Move research from idea to production-ready models in weeks.
