Job summary

UniversalAGI seeks a Geophysics + Seismic Researcher to join from day one, shaping AI models at the intersection of seismic interpretation and subsurface physics. You will own research workflows, from synthetic data to production-ready models, collaborating closely with the CEO and founding team.

The role emphasizes rapid experimentation, collaboration with domain experts, and publishing breakthrough results while delivering technology with real customer impact in energy and geoscience.

Qualifications

• PhD in Geophysics or a related engineering discipline with extensive seismic processing experience.
• Strong AI background including models for physical systems (FNO, Transolver).
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks; able to own workflows from data generation to training.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI architectures for subsurface physics, including transformer-based and generative operators for seismic modeling.
• Own research workflows end-to-end: synthetic data generation, training, validation and deployment.
• Apply uncertainty quantification to represent multiple plausible subsurface realizations.
