Job summary

Dex is seeking a founding Forward Deployed Engineer to own the technical journey from PoV to production readiness. You will work hands-on with customer engineers to enable integrations, build reference architectures, and shape product adoption in real environments.

This is not a sales role; it’s deep technical ownership with broad surface area, helping Fortune 500s and frontier AI startups deploy durable AI infrastructure patterns.

Qualifications

• Full proficiency in Go or Rust, plus at least one of TypeScript, Java, or Python.
• Strong Kubernetes skills with deep observability instincts and hands-on cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience designing and operating real distributed backend systems in production.
• Comfortable being the technical face of a product to sophisticated customer engineers (Staff/Principal).

Responsibilities

• Own the technical path from initial PoV/PoC enablement through production readiness and deployment.
• Work hands-on with customer engineers and OSS evaluators on integrations, reference implementations, and architecture guidance.
• Drive the transition from PoC to production readiness: Kubernetes, cloud setup, observability, networking, security, and operations patterns.
• Support early discovery workshops, POV planning, and participate in escalation and on-call rotations for critical customer issues.
• Feed product friction and papercuts back into engineering, contributing to docs, examples, SDKs, and the core product.
