Job summary

Kabilah is hiring a Founding Engineer (AI) in New York to design production AI systems for safety-critical healthcare workflows. You will build the infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, and feedback loops that continuously improve the platform as it learns from clinical practice.

You will own integrations with EHRs and healthcare data sources, optimize latency and observability, and partner with hospital executives and bedside clinicians to rapidly iterate on product capabilities.

Qualifications

We're hiring a Founding Engineer (AI) to build the intelligence layer that powers nursing workflows across healthcare. You'll design production AI systems that operate in safety-critical environments, creating the infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, and feedback loops that continuously improve Kabilah as it learns from clinical practice.

What You'll Do

• Build the AI infrastructure powering Kabilah's clinical agents and workflows.
• Design evaluation systems that measure and improve accuracy, reliability, and clinical usefulness.
• Own integrations with EHRs and other clinical data sources.
• Improve latency, observability, and safety across the AI platform.
• Partner directly with hospital execs, unit managers, and bedside nurses to understand clinical workflows, demo new capabilities, and rapidly iterate on the product.

What We're Looking For

• Exceptional software engineering skills and experience building production systems.
• Experience shipping LLM, agentic, or machine learning products used by real customers.
• Strong intuition for designing reliable AI systems, not just prompting models.
• Ability to take complex problems from research and experimentation into production.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical teams and healthcare customers.
