Job summary

Arul Health is seeking a Founding Engineer to join our on-site Boston team. You will shape the architecture of our AI agent platform, write a large portion of the code, and work directly with the CEO to decide what to build next.

You will own parts of the product end-to-end, set engineering standards, hire and grow the team, and build AI agents for scheduling, prior authorizations, refills, and financial assistance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience shipping AI-powered products.
• Experience building with LLMs or AI agents in production.
• Strong frontend, backend, and infra skills.

Arul Health builds an agentic AI platform that helps patients and caregivers manage the logistics of serious and chronic illness. Our AI agents and human care navigators do appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, insurance navigation, prescription refills and financial assistance applications.

As a Founding Engineer, you are one of the first engineers at Arul. You help set the technical foundation of the company: the architecture, the engineering standards and the culture. You write a large part of the code, you speak with patients and partners, and you decide with the CEO what to build next.

This role is on‑site in our Boston office, 5 days a week, and includes significant founding equity.

What we're looking for

• — A strong record of shipping products end to end at a startup or a talent‑dense company.
• — Hands‑on experience building with LLMs or AI agents in production.
• — Strong full‑stack skills across front end, back end and infrastructure.
• — A high level of ownership and comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace.
• — Strong product sense and care for design quality.
• — Ability to work on‑site in Boston, 5 days a week.

Nice to have

• — Experience in healthcare or health tech.
• — Experience with consumer products, design engineering, or a background in art or design.
• — Previous founder or first‑engineer experience.
• — Experience with React, Python/FastAPI and Google Cloud Platform.
