Job summary

Oodle is seeking a Founding Engineer to join on the ground floor to disrupt large markets with a scalable database/observability product. You will wear multiple hats, prototype rapidly, talk to customers, and shape the core stack.

You have 5–8+ years of distributed systems experience and are proficient in Go, Java, C/C++, Python, or Rust. This role requires startup mindset and a passion for building from scratch in a tight, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience architecting and developing large scale distributed systems, database systems or storage systems.
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages like Go, Java, C/C++, Scala, Python, Rust.

Responsibilities

• Disrupt a large existing market with deep technical insights.
• Wear multiple hats - rapid experimentation to find customer needs, and building software, talking to customers, eliminating ambiguity, and focusing/deciding on the things that matter.
• Optimize our software stack and database engine for cost, performance and scale. Every CPU cycle counts!
• Set the foundation for company culture and help grow the team
