Job summary

MYDENTALWIG in the Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced Biomedical Engineer to lead the sensing hardware for our Dental Computing Interface. You will shape architecture, prototype, test, and refine real-time ingestion-detection hardware as one of the first technical hires.

The role requires strong biomedical engineering background, embedded hardware know-how, and a passion for solving complex multidisciplinary problems at the intersection of hardware and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or closely related field.
• Five+ years of experience developing biomedical devices or related tech.
• Experience with prototype development and product engineering.
• Strong understanding of sensor technologies and embedded hardware.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of biomedical sensing hardware for intraoral applications.
• Evaluate sensing technologies for ingestion detection.
• Develop proofs-of-concept and functional models.
• Collaborate with AI, software, and mechanical teams to integrate hardware.
• Define hardware specs and testing protocols.
• Conduct lab testing and performance characterization.
• Support manufacturability and prototype fabrication.
• Coordinate with suppliers and partners.
• Contribute to IP development and technical documentation.
• Support regulatory submissions through design controls.
