Job summary

The Public Interest Company is seeking a founding, hands-on BI engineer to own its BI foundation. You will work directly with Databricks and Postgres, build dashboards, models, and reporting, and establish data quality standards to make data trustworthy.

You will partner with operations, finance, litigation, and engineering to turn questions into actionable analytics, discover insights, and impact recovery and financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BI/analytics or similar technical roles.
• Advanced SQL with joins, CTEs, window functions.
• Proven production dashboards, reporting datasets, reusable models.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift and BI tools.
• Strong data quality, reconciliation, and governance.
• Ability to translate ambiguous questions into analyses and insights.
• Independent hands-on BI contributor with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports across operations, finance, litigation, and clients.
• Write and optimize complex SQL on large datasets.
• Build reusable analytical models and semantic definitions on Databricks and Postgres.
• Develop reliable reporting datasets and metric definitions for consistency.
• Investigate data discrepancies and work with engineering to resolve root causes.
• Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of BI assets.
