Based in the Bay Area or willing to relocate, you will work hybrid on-site, shaping data layers, workflows, and deployment paths to accelerate drug discovery and proof-of-concept

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on with modern agentic coding platforms (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
• Track record shipping AI tools/LLMs, RAG, or agents.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Comfort with ambiguity and a builder's mindset.
• Strong communication and ability to work as an early hire.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area; on-site/hybrid work.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend infrastructure for internal AI knowledge systems.
• Architect the data layer and choose graph, vector, or hybrid approaches.
• Build infrastructure for automated, multi-step research workflows.
• Establish data logging and provenance for traceability.
• Track evolving models and architectures to integrate advances.
• Plan migration toward private deployment environments.
• Collaborate with Discovery Innovation team to translate research to systems.
• Engage across organization to deliver internal tools and meet needs.
