Job summary

Odyssey is seeking a Founding Security Engineer to own our security posture, shape strategy, and build programs from the ground up. You will champion security across our stack, partnering with teams to embed security into everything we ship and to stay ahead of evolving threats.

You will apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate threat detection, vulnerability analysis, and incident response, while guiding SOC 2 Type II readiness and secure operations for vendors and customers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Software Engineering experience with a focus on application security, cloud security, DevOps, network security, or similar domains.
• Experience applying AI-assisted tooling to accelerate threat detection, code review, and vulnerability analysis.
• Experience deploying and operating SAST, DAST, and SCA tools across the software development lifecycle.
• Strong track record managing security projects end-to-end within timelines and budgets.
• Experience with penetration testing tools and methodologies, with understanding of vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and remediate security risks across Odyssey's products and infrastructure.
• Perform static and dynamic vulnerability assessments and drive remediation through to resolution.
• Evaluate security risks in AI systems and data pipelines, leveraging AI-assisted tooling to enhance threat detection and security operations.
• Maintain and mature Odyssey's SOC 2 Type II program for a secure environment for vendors, customers, and employees.
• Design and implement security controls across the full technology stack, from application layer to cloud infrastructure.
• Translate complex security findings into clear remediation steps for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuously audit policies and controls to keep security practices ahead of evolving threats.
• Embed security into the developer workflow, including CI/CD pipelines and code reviews.
