Job summary

Odyssey is seeking its first Security Engineer to own our security posture, build programs from the ground up, and drive best practices across the technology stack. You will partner with cross-functional teams to embed security into every release and scale governance as we grow.

This high-impact role blends hands-on security with strategy, including SOC 2, AI-assisted tooling, and secure CI/CD. Remote (US-based) or hybrid from NYC are options; compensation ranges from $180k–$220k plus equity.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Software Engineering experience with a focus on security, cloud security, DevOps, network security, or similar domains.
• Solid understanding of SOC 2, ISO 27001 and similar frameworks with hands-on experience driving adherence.
• Experience applying AI-assisted tooling to accelerate threat detection, code review, and vulnerability analysis.
• Experience deploying and operating SAST, DAST, and SCA tools across the software development lifecycle.
• Strong track record managing security projects end-to-end within timelines and budgets.
• Experience with penetration testing tools, techniques, and remediation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and remediate security risks in Odyssey's products and infrastructure.
• Perform static and dynamic vulnerability assessments and drive remediation.
• Evaluate security risks in AI systems and data pipelines; leverage AI-assisted tooling to enhance threat detection and security operations.
• Maintain and mature Odyssey's SOC 2 Type II program.
• Design and implement security controls across the full tech stack from app layer to cloud.
• Translate security findings into clear remediation steps for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Audit policies and controls to stay ahead of threats.
• Embed security into the developer workflow, including CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling.
