Job summary

Wealthsimple Technologies is seeking an experienced software architect to lead the AI Platform Foundations team. You will build a shared AI tooling platform across a polyglot stack (Ruby, Python, TypeScript, Java/Kotlin) and drive governance, cost controls, and scalable adoption across North America.

You will mentor engineers, shape internal tooling as a product, and partner with Platform Engineering to ship reliable AI-enabled development workflows that reduce friction and increase velocity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience in platform engineering or developer tooling.
• Hands-on with LLMs and AI tooling in production.
• Product-minded approach to internal developer platforms.
• Proficiency in a polyglot stack (Ruby, Python, TypeScript, Java/Kotlin).
• Experience building governance, policy, or guardrail systems.
• Data-informed decision making with metrics and targets.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Build the shared AI tooling platform from the ground up.
• Accelerate developer productivity through AI-powered automation.
• Design guardrails to keep AI usage safe and compliant.
• Drive measurable adoption across a polyglot engineering org.
• Define standards and practices for AI-assisted engineering.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge through docs and reviews.
