Job summary

Osanni Bio in the San Francisco Bay Area is building internal AI infrastructure. We seek a hands-on Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and maintain systems powering AI knowledge workflows, reporting to Discovery Innovation.

This is a founding infrastructure role with significant ownership and cross-functional collaboration. You will shape architecture from the ground up, collaborate with science, operations, and legal teams to deploy scalable tools, and work on-site/hybrid.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated depth in AI/LLM space.
• Hands-on experience with modern agentic coding platforms and building AI tools.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend infrastructure for internal AI knowledge systems.
• Architect the data layer (graph-based, vector-based, or hybrid).
• Develop workflows for automated, multi-step research across distributed components.
• Establish data logging and provenance for traceability.
• Monitor evolving AI models and architectures and apply relevant advances.
• Plan migration toward private deployment with future-proofing.
• Collaborate with Discovery Innovation and other teams to translate research into systems.
• Engage across organization to deliver internal tools that advance functions.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
