Job summary

Ember AI is seeking a genuinely AI-native Founding Engineer who has lived the 0-to-1 journey. You’ll own core agent platform components, work directly with customers, and help turn early enterprise demand into a scalable AI platform.

You’ll join a small founding team, influence product roadmap and engineering culture, and collaborate across backend, frontend and infrastructure. You should have built AI-powered products in production, with experience in agents, LLM tool calling, RAG, memory

Qualifications

• Approximately 3-7 years of professional engineering experience.
• Strong backend skills and confidence working across the full stack.
• Comfort speaking directly with enterprise customers for discovery and debugging.
• Strong product judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• A history of stable, meaningful contributions rather than repeated short stays.
• Ability to work from Ember’s San Francisco office three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Own major parts of Ember’s core agent platform, including agent orchestration and multi-step workflows.
• Develop triggers, tools, permissions and human approvals, plus RAG and memory features.
• Contribute to observability, tracing and production reliability across the stack.
• Build customer-facing product experiences and integrations with enterprise systems.
• Influence architecture, product roadmap and engineering culture from discovery to launch and iteration.
