Job summary

Helmsted is seeking a Founding AI Engineer to join a remote team in the United States. You will help build the agents and the intelligence behind them, partnering with the CTO on evals, long-term memory, and document retrieval at scale.

You will work on model routing, cost optimization, and secure, permissioned access to client data, with fintech experience a plus. This is a fully remote US-based role with potential relocation as the team centralizes.

Job description

Helmsted | Founding AI Engineer | REMOTE (US) | Full-time | $160K-$200K + equity

Helmsted is the AI-native operating system for wealth advisors of complex households: planning, tax and estate analysis, meetings and the client portal, run by agents that do the work. Small team, live with pilot firms, shipping daily. You'd build the agents and the intelligence behind them with our CTO: evals and systems that improve from their own usage, long-term memory, retrieval over millions of documents, model routing and cost, and secure, permissioned access to client data. Fintech experience is a plus, not a requirement. Remote in the US today, with eventual relocation as the team centralizes.
