Job summary

Deep Science Ventures seeks a Founder-in-Residence to spearhead a new CNS delivery venture in partnership with Medicines Discovery Catapult. The role focuses on protein engineering, biologics, and neuroscience biology to design an engine for delivering therapeutics across the blood-brain barrier.

You will refine the technical thesis, drive IP strategy, and coordinate market strategies, fundraising, and regulatory positioning.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in two of four target areas (protein engineering, biologics, cell biology/neurobiology, medicinal chemistry).
• Track record translating science to early-stage ventures or programs.
• Experience with CRO/CDMO or pharma data packages.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in unstructured, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Refine and articulate the technical thesis for CNS delivery approaches.
• Define IP strategy, competition, and differentiation for the new venture.
• Map market, value proposition, and techno-economics; shape regulatory positioning.
• Develop fundraising strategy and investor-ready data.
• Lead preparation for Investment Committee and recruit advisory/co-founders.
