Job summary

Kairos is seeking a Founding Head of Kairos Labs, our upcoming incubator for new AI safety projects and organizations. You will design and launch the program, recruit initial cohorts, and provide ongoing advisory support on strategy, fundraising, and hiring.

You’ll shape Kairos Labs from the ground up, own its strategic direction, and collaborate with Kairos’ broader portfolio. The role is fully remote with global reach and potential hub offices.

Qualifications

• Experience building organizations, incubators, accelerators, or similar programs.
• Clear view of AI safety ecosystem gaps and startup needs.
• Strong judgment on projects and people with limited evidence.
• High agency and ability to start from scratch and execute independently.
• Mission-aligned with advancing advanced AI safety initiatives.
• Comfort handling legal, financial, and compliance aspects with expert help.

Responsibilities

• Design Kairos Labs as an incubator for AI safety projects and orgs.
• Own the launch: building application/selection and recruiting first cohorts.
• Support incubated projects with strategy, fundraising, and hiring guidance.
• Determine Kairos Labs’ growth trajectory and alignment with other programs.
• Contribute to broader org strategy and cross-cutting initiatives.
