Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field with a focus on mathematics education.
• Evidence of success in teaching foundational mathematics and statistics.
• Ability to teach in-person courses and use student-centered strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teach Foundational Mathematics and introductory statistics courses (e.g., FNMT 019, FNMT 118, FNMT 141, MATH 149).
• Conduct exams, maintain records in Canvas, and submit attendance and grades on time.
• Use instructional technology to teach in-person and online formats (Canvas, ALEKS, Desmos, EdPuzzle).
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote student and departmental success.
• Identify and address barriers to student success and connect students to college resources.
• Support student achievement and professional habits to prepare for college and work.
• Create inclusive classrooms that respect diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the College community.
• Participate in assessment of student learning and outcomes.

Education

Master’s degree in Mathematics Education

Master’s degree in Education with at least 18 graduate credits in mathematics

Master’s degree in Mathematics with proven record in education

Other Master’s degree with proven record in education and foundational math teaching
