The Department has an ongoing need for part-time faculty who can teach in-person courses and strongly encourages applicants with in-person teaching availability to apply.

We are committed to designing and delivering instruction that builds the foundational mathematics skills students need for success in future college-level courses and to meet the quantitative requirements of their degree or certificate programs. Real-world applications are essential to our teaching; faculty are expected to integrate them to make concepts concrete and strengthen understanding. We also strive to create supportive classrooms that uphold academic rigor while addressing the diverse needs and readiness levels of students in developmental mathematics.

  • Teach Foundational Mathematics and introductory statistics courses (e.g., FNMT 019, FNMT 118, FNMT 141, MATH 149).
  • Instructional Integrity: Conduct exams; grade and maintain records in Canvas; submit required reports (attendance, grades) on time; and teach with integrity in alignment with departmental and College policies.

  • Collaboration & Problem Solving: Demonstrate lifelong learning and effective problem-solving; proactively address challenges and collaborate with colleagues to promote student and departmental success.
  • Student Support & Technology Problem-Solving: Identify and address barriers to student success by helping students troubleshoot personal and course-related challenges including technology problems such as access to learning platforms, assignments, or assessments and connect them to college resources when additional support is needed.
  • Student Success: Support achievement by strengthening math skills and professional habits (reliability, communication, teamwork) to prepare students for success in college and the workplace.
  • Inclusive Learning: Create and maintain an inclusive classroom that respects and responds to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students and colleagues.
  • Professional Growth & Leadership: Engage in continuous professional development through mentoring, staying current with developments in mathematics education, and serving the College community.
  • Assessment: Participate fully in assessment of student learning and outcomes at the course, program, and institutional levels.
  • Availability: Respond promptly to student and department head inquiries.
