Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Foundation Total Station Operator to perform surveying and layout for basements and foundations using Total Station instruments. The role requires working from foundation plans, establishing points, recording measurements, data uploads, and instrument maintenance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years field surveying experience, knowledge of Total Stations (Leica or Trimble), and ability to travel. CDL may be required per DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years related field surveying experience or training.
• Knowledge of Total Stations (Leica or Trimble) and ability to read foundation plans.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of field surveying.
• Survey and layout basements and foundations from foundation plans.
• Establish and set points for construction stakeouts.
• Record measurements of horizontal and vertical control points.
• Upload Total Station data to/from computer; maintain instrument.
• Operate safely and coordinate with CAD operators and subcontractors.
• Assist foreman with related tasks and work overtime as needed.
