Job summary

The Denver Foundation, located at 1009 Grant Street, Denver, CO 80203, is seeking a Manager of Finance and Accounting to strengthen financial operations and reporting across the organization. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Controller in the Finance, Impact, and Technology (FIT) Department and will supervise accounting staff while collaborating with the Assistant Controller to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor‑level degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Seven+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and experience with financial statements and budgets.
• Nonprofit or foundation experience is a plus.
• CPA or MBA credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting activity and general ledger in coordination with the Assistant Controller.
• Lead monthly and annual closes and prepare financial analyses for leadership.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and multi‑year models for strategic planning.
• Create dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Supervise accounting staff and support internal controls and process improvement.
