Job summary

Family Support Services in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Licensing Counselor to manage initial licensing, re-licensing, and foster home support. You will ensure state standards compliance and act as liaison with community agencies involved in foster home licensing.

You will report to the Licensing Supervisor, complete timely re-licensing packets, conduct home visits, and assist with PRIDE home study processes. Hybrid schedule, Monday–Friday, starting after training, with a strong focus on safety and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Successful completion of training provided by DCF for Licensing and Family Service Counselors. Prior experience with at risk children preferred.
• Valid driver’s license. Current certification in First Aid and CPR is recommended. Child Protection Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely submission of re-licensing packets to DCF. 100% of all completed re-licensing packets will meet FSS and DCF timeframe standards.
• Complete quarterly visits with foster parents.
• Contact foster parents within 48 hours when new placements are made and ensure needed services are in place.
• Provide completed re-licensing packets to Licensing Supervisor 45 days prior to license expiration for CPC/DCF review.
• Coordinate initial licensing home study by contacting PRIDE participants within one week of assignment.
• Attend Foster Home Association meetings on a scheduled rotation; participate in trainings and recruitment events.
