Job summary

Samaritas is a Michigan-based human service organization dedicated to connecting people with families and communities, empowering them to live their fullest lives, and creating lasting, positive change. We are seeking a Visitation Coach to support parents and children during supervised visits and strengthen family relationships through guidance and support.

The role focuses on coaching parents, supervising visits, ensuring safety, and documenting progress for the assigned social worker.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma with 2+ years in human services.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Experience in daycare or school setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Coach parents using a strengths-based approach to improve parenting skills.
• Identify visitation goals and monitor progress.
• Supervise visits to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
• Observe, document interactions, and report to the social worker.
• Transport children to visits as needed.
