Job summary

Samaritas is hiring a Visitation Coach in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on coaching parents to strengthen visitation skills while ensuring child safety and compliance with program requirements.

You will supervise visits, observe interactions, and document progress for the assigned social worker. A relevant degree or experience in human services is required, with evening hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or equivalent; or high school diploma with 2 years relevant experience.
• Knowledge of child development.
• 1 year experience in daycare or school setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Ability to work with families in sensitive situations.
• Understanding of child welfare and family dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Coach parents on parenting skills using a strengths-based approach.
• Supervise visits and ensure child safety.
• Observe and document parent-child interactions.
• Report to the assigned social worker and maintain timely records.
• Transport foster children to visits and provide support services as needed.
