Job summary

Samaritas is seeking a Visitation Coach in Grand Rapids, MI to support families navigating the foster care system. You will coach parents, supervise visits, and help safeguard child wellbeing through structured, strength-based guidance.

Responsibilities include documenting interactions, coordinating with social workers, and providing transportation and related support services. Associate’s or related experience required; evenings may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Use a strengths-based approach to coach parents on parenting skills through modeling, instruction, and feedback.
• Help parents identify goals for visitation and track progress over time.
• Reinforce parental strengths and encourage positive interactions.
• Supervise parent-child visits in homes, offices, or community settings; ensure child safety.
• Intervene as needed to maintain safe interactions.
• Observe and document parent-child interactions in detail; report progress to social worker.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with program requirements.
• Transport foster children to visitation appointments; provide support services per program requirements.
