State of Tennessee's Department of Children's Services is seeking a Foster Care Support Specialist for Tipton County. The role focuses on comprehensive support, monitoring, and guidance to foster families to ensure safe, stable homes and compliance with licensing requirements.

The position carries a caseload of 25–35 foster homes and involves licensing, evaluation, and ongoing support for kinship and traditional placements, with monthly home visits and regular contact to ensure placement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to three years of professional work in counseling or case management services; two years with children/juveniles.
• Graduate coursework in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, human services, or child development may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsabilités

• Manage a caseload of foster homes (25–35), including kinship and traditional placements.
• Maintain accurate electronic records for all assigned foster homes.
• Conduct monthly in-person home visits to assess safety and compliance; provide guidance.
• Complete monthly support calls to out-of-state homes; monitor placement stability and payments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot payment-related matters for all foster homes on the caseload.
• Assist with approval processes for traditional homes and provide ongoing support during home studies.
• Collaborate with kinship teams to support kinship foster homes.
• Perform full approval reassessments every two years and annual anniversary assessments.
• Track compliance with required foster parent training hours.
