Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) in Newark, OH, is seeking a full-time Social Worker (LSW) to join the Foster Care Team. The role involves community-based crisis intervention, youth and family advocacy, and collaboration with foster parents to promote safety and successful community living.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
• A valid professional license, LSW; required.
• Experience working with youth and foster care, required.
• Must have flexible availability including evenings.
• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate individual and family mental health services, intervention and other evidence based clinical services as required.
• Travels daily, to provide community based services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates and monitors services for youth.
• Regularly completes, reviews and modifies youth-based plans.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationship with foster parents and families of origin.
• Assists in youth's stabilization efforts.
• Provides safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as required.
• Flexible availability for scheduled on-call rotation.
