Job summary

SC Department of Children's Advocacy is seeking a Program Coordinator I to identify barriers to permanency for children in foster care and coordinate foster care reviews across the state. The role includes inputting review information into the agency database and preparing written recommendations for distribution to the Family Court, DSS, and Guardian ad Litem.

The candidate will work to promote permanent homes for children, requiring problem-solving, critical thinking, and strong communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid SC driver's license and ability to travel within SC.

Responsibilities

• Schedule reviews and prepare case information for children in foster care.
• Coordinate and facilitate foster care reviews statewide via remote or in-person reviews to guide permanency recommendations.
• Produce Review Board Recommendations for distribution to Family Court, DSS, and Guardian ad Litem.
• Identify and resolve barriers to services and permanency for children through advocacy with DSS and other stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Review Board staff, members, and other child welfare professionals.
