Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Permanency Specialist to assess needs, develop permanency plans, and coordinate services to secure stable, loving homes for children in foster care near Van Zandt county.

You will partner with families, foster parents, social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals to create a durable support network, provide crisis intervention when needed, and document cases in compliance with agency policy.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required; 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in child welfare, foster care, or adoption services is a plus.
• Knowledge of laws and best practices in child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Meet the needs of children in foster care and assist caregivers to provide a stable home.
• Work in environments that may involve home visits in high-crime or substandard areas.
• Advocate for children’s best interests, coordinating with courts and ensuring timely appearances.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to support each child.
• Provide crisis intervention and maintain detailed case records.
• Provide 24-hour on-call support and crisis response.
• Attend trainings on adoption preparation and related topics.
• Discuss separation and loss with families.
• Travel for visits after 5PM and be on-call rotating hours.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity with diverse families.
• Perform duties per regulations, company policy, and standards.
• May drive and maintain auto-insurance compliance.
