The role is field-based with some in-office duties, averaging 40 hours per week. Requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Human Services, or related area required.
  • Two years of personal and/or professional experience working with children diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disorders.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Google, Excel, PowerPoint, GoTo Meeting, the Internet, and other software applications.
  • Working knowledge of the needs of children placed in substitute care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and support the child’s emotional, psychological, and physical needs throughout challenging times.
  • Assist in homework, celebrate success, and support social behavior and life skills.
  • Teach and guide families in daily activity schedules and routines.
  • Observe, monitor and document changes in behavior or dysregulation.
  • Maintain one week of on-call crisis readiness on a rotating basis.
