Job summary

Pathways Youth & Family Services seeks a Peer Support Specialist for the Pathways Treatment Family Foster Care (PTFFC) program in Dallas. You will engage with children and foster families, reinforcing therapeutic concepts and implementing treatment plans under supervision.

This role emphasizes empathetic conversation, skill-building, and collaboration with the treatment team. You will support education and daily routines, monitor behavioral changes, and contribute to crisis readiness while

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Human Services, or related area.
Two years of personal and/or professional experience working with children diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disorders.
Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing support for the child and foster family through empathetic conversations and evidence-based practices.
Assist in homework and educational support per QMHP and treatment team guidelines.
Model and reinforce skills from TBRI and TFTC per Individualized Treatment/Service Plans.
Observe and document changes in behavior and respond to needs of the child and family.
