Job summary

A Brooklyn-based, large non-profit client is seeking a Case Planner on a long-term temporary basis, starting asap. The role involves direct case planning for children in foster care, with home visits throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and surrounding areas, plus court appearances.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with potential overtime. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree, experience in child welfare, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to learn new database systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Experience in child welfare or working with children/juveniles.
• Proficient in MS Office; quick to learn other database systems.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish or Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct case planning services to children in the foster care program.
• Maintain mandated contacts, develop service plans and connect children and families to appropriate resources.
• Document progress notes and accurate reports.
• Make home visits and court appearances, and liaise with ACS and OCFS.
• Facilitate and actively participate service planning, reviews and family conferences.
