The City of Roanoke is seeking a Family Services Specialist in the Foster Care division to manage a caseload of 10 to 14 children, meeting with each child at least monthly and coordinating with families and collateral agencies to assess needs and establish permanency plans. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field and a Virginia driver's license.

Competenze

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field.
Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in any field with two years of related Human Services experience.
Valid Virginia driver's license is required; if not, provide DMV record.
Bilingual, Spanish/English speakers encouraged to apply.

Mansioni

Interviews clients to assess the nature and extent of needs.
Develops, implements and monitors service plans for children in foster care.
Attends court hearings and FAPT/FPM meetings for consultation and funding.
Maintains case records and writes reports of services, findings and actions.
Provides protection and care to abused/neglected children and adults; responds to emergencies.
Makes referrals to agencies and coordinates with schools and treatment programs.
