Job summary

City of Alexandria – Department of Community and Human Services seeks a Family Services Specialist II/III to provide intensive foster care case management and culturally competent services for children and families. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or Bachelor's with two years related experience.
• Knowledge of social work principles, laws, policies, and regulations.
• Ability to interview, assess needs, counsel, and refer clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive case management for children/youth in foster care.
• Conduct monthly face-to-face visits with each child/youth in foster care.
• Document visits and mandated screenings in case management systems.
• Maintain regular contact with foster care contacts and providers.
• Facilitate treatment team meetings focusing on safety, well-being, permanency.
