New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Case Associate to join the Specialized Foster Care Program.

This full-time role supports families and children with medical complexities, disabilities and behavioral challenges in field and community settings. Responsibilities include supervising family visits, coordinating appointments, attending Family Team Conferences, advocating for families at public services, visiting schools, and assisting with data collection for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; BSW preferred.
• Prior experience in child welfare is preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise family visits in the office and in the community, documenting visits for records.
• Conduct foster home visits and visits to birth homes, documenting for records.
• Assist social workers with phone contacts to arrange appointments and referrals.
• Attend Family Team Conferences and other multi-disciplinary case conferences.
• Accompany and advocate for parents at appointments for public assistance and housing.
• Visit schools to discuss children's educational progress with staff.
• Assist with data collection for adoption home studies.
• Provide other support to families in foster care and permanency efforts.
