Job summary

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. in Manhattan seeks a Per Diem Case Associate to join the Specialized Family Foster Care Program. The role involves supervising visits, transporting children, home and foster visits, and documentation in the state-wide electronic record.

The candidate will assist social workers, coordinate referrals for services, and accompany families to appointments for public benefits and housing. Per diem schedule, 3–7pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; BSW preferred.
• Prior experience with families in child welfare is helpful.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise family visits in office, community, and virtual settings.
• Escort children to and from visits and appointments.
• Conduct home visits and report to planning team.
• Support case management and permanency efforts for families.
• Document activities in the electronic case record within timeframes.
• Assist social workers with scheduling referrals for services.
• Accompany and advocate for parents at appointments for benefits and housing.
