Job summary

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. in New York City seeks a dedicated Socio-Therapist/Case Associate to support youth in foster care.

The role combines socio-therapist responsibilities with case associate duties under supervision within the Specialized Family Foster Care program. Responsibilities include managing caseloads, advocating for youth at school, conducting home and community visits, participating in team conferences, and maintaining accurate records in the state system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; BSW preferred.
• Experience in child welfare preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a flexible caseload of youth and develops behavioral plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Advocates for youth at school with NAC's Pathways and medical/mental health staff.
• Conducts in-person contact with child and foster parent in home and community.
• Participates in family time at the office and in the community.
• Participates in all family team and interdisciplinary conferences.
• Maintains accurate records and enters data into the Connections state system.
• Assists with casework activities as needed.
• Supervises visits (virtual and in-person) as a visiting coach; assists transporting youth as needed.
• Conduct foster home visits and visits to birth homes and other field visits.
• Attends meetings and conferences as needed.
• Assists with data collection for adoption home studies.
• Maintains accurate records and enters data into the Connections state system.
• Assists with casework activities as needed.
