Job summary

Luxoft seeks a Senior Engineer to drive hands-on modernization of critical banking applications. You will lead secure coding, automate tests, and improve CI/CD pipelines while upgrading Java runtimes and modernizing middleware. Expect client-facing collaboration and technical leadership across engagements.

You will containerize apps, work with OpenShift/Docker, and apply observability practices to ensure production readiness and reliable releases.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience with Java/JVM and Spring.
• Strong TypeScript skills for Node.js-centric projects.
• Experience with TDD and automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Secure coding practices, vulnerability remediation, and dependency risk analysis.
• Runtime and framework upgrades; container platforms (Docker/OpenShift); Linux administration.
• Experience with build tools (Maven/Gradle/npm) and advanced Git workflows.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and production readiness in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted technical engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience, and legacy technology challenges with development teams.
• Assess application code, dependencies, runtime environment, test coverage, deployment architecture, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational risks.
• Write, debug, review, and enhance production-quality code and configuration throughout engagements.
• Define and implement modernization and remediation plans with clear priorities, risks, and outcomes.
• Develop or improve unit, integration, and deployment tests and automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerize applications and support deployment to OpenShift; upgrade runtimes and libraries as needed.
• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for safe, repeatable releases; automate database changes with Liquibase/Flyway.
