Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on software engineering with production code.
• Proficient in Java/JVM and TypeScript with Spring ecosystem experience.
• Strong focus on Test-Driven Development and automated testing in CI/CD.
• Knowledge of secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and dependency risk analysis.
• Experience upgrading runtimes, frameworks, libraries, and container platforms.
• Proficiency with Linux, build tools (Maven/Gradle/npm), and Git workflows.
• Familiarity with observability and production readiness principles.
• Ability to coach engineers and drive sustainable engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted technical engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience, and legacy tech challenges with development teams.
• Assess application code, dependencies, runtime, test coverage, CI/CD, observability, and risks.
• Write and review production-quality code and configuration throughout engagements.
• Define modernization and remediation plans with clear priorities and risks.
• Develop or improve unit/integration/contract tests and CI/CD quality gates.
• Drive automated testing approaches and data provisioning, including secure data masking.
• Upgrade runtimes/frameworks and container platforms; modernize middleware stacks.
• Containerize applications using Docker/OpenShift; enable client deployments.
• Design resilient deployment architectures, including active-active deployments when needed.
• Lead technical workshops; communicate risks and decisions to stakeholders.
