Job summary

Cogniify, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Solutions Architect to lead trust and identity integrations for agentic commerce.

This hands-on role teams with engineers to build reference integrations, document ADRs, and demonstrate architectural decisions for merchants and partners. The role spans Claude API, Agent SDK, and Managed Agents, with design work on session binding, gateway verification, and Verifiable Credentials, while shaping threat models and privacy by design.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of solutions or software architecture experience.
• Hands-on experience taking AI agents into production with external tool integrations.
• Working knowledge of Anthropic Claude platform, including Messages API, Agent SDK and Managed Agents.
• Experience with identity and payments architecture (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT/JWKS, HTTP signatures).
• Familiarity with agentic commerce protocols (UCP, OpenAI ACP, AP2) and KYA concepts.
• Ability to translate architecture decisions into implementation guidance and ADRs.

Responsibilities

• Compare integration points across Claude Messages API, Agent SDK and Managed Agents; document ADRs in 90 days.
• Design identity binding at session start and backend decisions for verification or denial.
• Create gateway verifier for hosted agents to simplify merchant integration.
• Define loyalty experiences without extra logins; support headers/middleware approach for other protocols.
• Define Verifiable Credential concepts: issuer, holder wallet, presentation flow and privacy properties.
• Write threat models, reference architectures, sequence diagrams and runbooks; lead partner demos.
• Collaborate with external engineering teams to resolve integration questions and explain technical choices to stakeholders.

The Role

Cogniify is hiring a Forward Deployed Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of trust and identity integrations for agentic commerce. You will define where identity checks and trust decisions belong when AI agents interact with merchants, payment services and wallet providers.

This is a hands-on architecture role. You will work with engineers to build reference integrations, document technical decisions and demonstrate how the solution works. You will also lead technical discussions with merchants and partners across the Anthropic, Google/UCP, Cloudflare, Visa and wallet ecosystems.

The work covers agent runtimes, authenticated tool access, checkout flows and privacy. We are looking for someone who can make sound architecture decisions, explain the trade-offs clearly and stay involved through implementation.

What You’ll Do

• Compare the integration points across Claude Messages API, Agent SDK and Managed Agents. In your first 90 days, document where trust can be enforced and write architecture decision records (ADRs) for the primary runtime and integration design.
• Design identity binding at session start and backend decisions to approve, request additional verification or deny an action. Define when each integration should fail open or fail closed.
• Design a gateway verifier for hosted agents so merchants can integrate without changing their prompts or adding their own trust enforcement code.
• Design loyalty experiences without requiring a separate login. For UCP, use a namespaced signal with a loyalty block to support member pricing and reserved inventory in checkout, with identity linking when additional verification is needed. Design an equivalent approach using headers and middleware for other protocols.
• Define the Verifiable Credential proof of concept, including the issuer, holder wallet, presentation flow, merchant verifier and privacy properties it needs to demonstrate.
• Write threat models, reference architecture and sequence diagrams, merchant integration guides and demo runbooks. Prepare fallback plans and lead demonstrations with partners.
• Work directly with external engineering teams to resolve integration questions and explain technical choices to business and engineering stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• 6 - 9 years of experience in solutions architecture or software architecture, with hands-on coding and implementation experience.
• Hands-on experience taking AI agents into production, including connecting them to external tools and APIs, securing access, and handling failures in live environments.
• Working knowledge of Anthropic’s Claude platform, including Messages API tool use, prompt caching, Agent SDK and Managed Agents, along with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and authenticated MCP servers.
• Experience with identity and payments architecture, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT/JWKS, HTTP message signatures and checkout flows that interact with PCI-scoped payment systems.
• Familiarity with agentic commerce protocols such as UCP, OpenAI ACP and AP2, and Know Your Agent (KYA) concepts.
• Experience with threat modelling and privacy by design. You should be able to turn architecture decisions into clear implementation guidance and readable sequence diagrams.
• Experience leading technical working sessions with external engineering teams and explaining complex decisions to both executives and developers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Verifiable Credentials, including W3C VC 2.0, OID4VCI/OID4VP, SD-JWT or BBS+.
• Experience with fraud or risk decisioning platforms and CDN or edge architectures, particularly Cloudflare Workers.
• Previous experience in a forward deployed engineering, architecture or customer-facing technical delivery role.
