Ease Health is hiring a Forward Deployed Software Engineer based in the United States. You will embed with behavioral health providers, migrate data from legacy EHRs and billing systems, and ship production software that directly impacts patient care.
You will collaborate with clinicians, billers, and executives to shape the roadmap, own end-to-end initiatives, and thrive under real customer deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare tech environment.
US-based applicants only. This role is open to people who live in the United States. Applications sent from outside the US, including through a VPN or proxy, may be declined automatically. Every hire's identity and US work authorization is verified.
No recruiting agencies. We do not use recruiting agencies and do not want to be contacted by them about this or any other role.
Most engineers never meet the people who use what they build. You will. Forward Deployed Software Engineers embed with behavioral health providers, take on their hardest problems, and ship the software that fixes them. You're the first engineer a new customer works with and the one who turns what you see in the field into product.
Own complex data migrations off legacy EHRs and billing systems, end to end, often on tight timelines
Work onsite with providers to learn how their practices actually run
Turn tangled customer problems into scoped, buildable work, then build it
Ship production software alongside our product engineers, not prototypes or decks
Bring the field back with you: what you learn shapes the roadmap
4+ years of experience (ideally 8+) as a software engineer
A strong, hands-on engineer who wants to be in front of customers
Comfort with messy data, legacy systems, and ambiguous problems
Product judgment: you know what to build, not just how
You can hold a room with clinicians, billers, and executives
High ownership, and energy for a role with real customer deadlines
You've migrated data off legacy EHRs or other complex enterprise systems
Healthcare, EHR integration, or interoperability experience
Founder or early-stage startup experience
Frequent travel to customer sites across the country; based out of our New York City office, with remote flexibility for engineers with 8+ years of experience
Expect 15 or more customer-facing hours a week
Competitive base salary plus equity, based on qualifications and level of experience
Ease is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, which led our $41M Series A to build the AI-native operating system for behavioral health. Behavioral health providers typically run their business on 6 to 10 disconnected tools for admissions, clinical documentation, and billing. Ease replaces all of them with one platform: CRM, EHR, and revenue cycle management on a single patient record, with AI doing work that used to take entire teams.
We serve independent clinics and large multi-location provider groups across the country, covering every level of care from outpatient and IOP to residential, detox, inpatient psychiatry, and medication-assisted treatment. The a16z funding is going directly into product and engineering.
The work shows up in patient care. Providers on Ease report documenting 60 to 70% faster, which opens 30 to 40% more sessions on clinicians' calendars, and cutting intake and admissions labor costs by half. When you ship a feature here, a clinic sees more patients the next week.
We're a rapidly growing team based out of our New York City office. There are no product managers: engineers talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship it in days. If you want to own a meaningful part of a product that changes how a whole sector of healthcare runs, this is the place.
