Job summary

Harrington Starr in New York is seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineering Lead to run a client-facing engineering pod, blending technical delivery, team leadership and commercial ownership while staying close to the technology and client engagements.

This player-coach role sits at the intersection of finance, data and cloud technology, with a focus on shaping delivery standards, mentoring engineers and growing a newly formed function, including applying AI and LLM tooling to improve

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in financial services technology.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and/or Python, data platforms and cloud-native technology.
• Strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle across front, middle and back office.
• Proven experience delivering complex, client-facing technology projects.
• Previous technical leadership experience, including mentoring and developing engineers.
• Experience working with asset managers, asset owners or asset servicing organisations is highly desirable.
• Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor.

Key Requirements:
