Job summary

Ultimate Knowledge Institute is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer who blends software craftsmanship with direct customer impact. You will embed with client teams, ship code, and adapt our cloud-native platform to real environments, including on-prem and secure networks.

You will own end-to-end delivery, troubleshoot distributed systems, and mentor customers on GitOps, IaC, and networking practices while balancing pragmatic engineering with practical constraints in government-aligned contexts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Backend language proficiency in TypeScript, Java, Go or Python.
• Production Kubernetes deployment and operations experience.
• Experience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD preferred).
• IaC with Terraform, Helm or Kustomize.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems: containers, API, networking.
• Familiar with Calico/Cilium/Multus or similar CNIs.
• Strong networking fundamentals and AWS experience.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customer teams to deploy and tailor cloud-native platforms.
• Ship code, build tooling, and automate workflows.
• Debug distributed system failures and advise on best practices.
• Work across cloud and on-prem environments, including secure networks.
• Engage with DoD/government security frameworks and customer success.
