Job summary

Stripe is seeking a veteran software engineer for its Forward Deployed Engineering team to shape and deliver scalable Stripe integrations and standalone applications for enterprise customers.

You will collaborate with Product & Engineering to design features beyond the standard capabilities, sometimes building standalone apps deployed in client environments, and sometimes augmenting client teams to move faster and more reliably.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional full-stack development.
• Experience with languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Ruby, Go, or Java.
• Experience with backend infrastructure and scalable systems.
• Excellence at rapid prototyping while maintaining quality.
• Familiarity with containerized applications and object-oriented programming languages.
• Strong problem-solving and business understanding of development.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect robust technical solutions, secure and scalable.
• Design, build, and deploy production applications combining user business logic, Stripe best practices, and user-facing interfaces.
• Collaborate directly with internal and external stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical teams and executives.
• Drive the direction of the new Forward Deployed Engineering arm at Stripe and contribute to technical projects.
• Engage directly with users to deeply understand challenges, requirements, and co-develop solutions.
• Contribute tooling, frameworks, and best practices that scale impact across accounts.
