Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineering Manager to lead a pod of 5–15 engineers embedded within strategic enterprise customers, owning delivery execution and engineering quality for their scope. You will shape technical direction, ensure production readiness of AI systems, and develop your team's careers while representing the FDE practice to AWS stakeholders.

You will also own production excellence, hire and coach engineers, and identify opportunities to expand AI

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams delivering complex AI/ML programs.
• Proven track record in delivery management and customer engagement.
• Ability to define standards and coach engineers toward career growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead FDE pod delivery across one or more customer engagements, staffing for optimal coverage and defining execution cadences.
• Provide technical oversight, review architecture decisions, and align with customer needs and AWS best practices.
• Own production excellence by ensuring readiness criteria and driving improvements within scope.
• Hire, develop, and retain FDE talent; coach junior engineers and contribute to hiring standards.
• Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption and codify learnings into reusable patterns.
