Job summary

Reliance Financial is seeking a Forward‑Deployed Engineer to turn its underwriting and servicing infra into reliable systems used daily by financial teams. You’ll work with stakeholders to deploy technology supporting underwriting, servicing, portfolio monitoring, and collections, converting feedback into durable improvements.

The role is hands‑on and requires comfort with production code, scripts, integrations, and ownership from issue to resolution.

Qualifications

• Five+ years deploying production‑quality code in high‑risk environments.
• Experience deploying, integrating, or operating software used by business teams.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and existing codebase work.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience diagnosing API, data, authentication, environment, and deployment problems.
• Experience with TypeScript/Node.js or a comparable production web stack, REST APIs, and cloud‑hosted services.
• Experience with webhooks, background jobs, queues, retries, and third‑party API integrations.
• Clear communication with engineers and non‑technical business users, onsite in Toms River three days/week.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure our operational infrastructure for underwriting, servicing, and financial workflows.
• Coordinate environments, integrations, permissions, configuration, data mappings, and readiness for deployments.
• Support releases from development to production readiness and post‑release monitoring.
• Create repeatable implementation procedures to accelerate deployments and reduce risk.
• Diagnose issues across applications, APIs, databases, integrations, and deployment infra.
• Read/modify production code when needed to resolve blockers or improve behavior.
• Build lightweight tools, scripts, data transformations, and internal utilities.
• Improve observability, documentation, and runbooks; ensure robust failure recovery.
